Probate Estate and Trust Administration

Upon the death of a loved one, we will assist in all aspects of probate estate and trust administration. An estate is the process through which the probate court grants legal authority to a fiduciary (an executor, administrator or commissioner) to:

  • collect and preserve the assets of a decedent;
  • pay outstanding debts and taxes; and
  • distribute the remaining assets to the persons entitled to them under the decedent’s Will or by law

Trust administration involves a similar process with the fiduciary (trustee) handling this process without the supervision of the probate court. We will help guide you through estate and trust administration procedures, ensuring compliance with all local, state and federal laws. Our attorneys and staff have experience handling estates and trusts of all sizes, including estates requiring federal tax compliance and estates and trusts in controversy. We understand that this is a stressful time and our team of experienced attorneys and paralegals will be there to support you every step of the way.
